Trial Summary
BrightFarms, a US greenhouse grower of leafy greens, trialled Overture® A and Overture® B in teen-leaf lettuce at its New Hampshire greenhouse in November and December 2025. The crop was grown in NFT gutters on peat, as part of the facility’s normal production.
Each product was sprayed onto the seed once, at sowing, and compared with untreated gutters sown on the same days. The trial was repeated over three consecutive sowing and harvest days. At harvest, 1,179 plants were weighed individually, from three zones along each gutter.
Conclusions
Both products increased yield per plant compared with untreated plants from the same harvest day, gutter and zone: +10.2% with Overture® A and +9.1% with Overture® B, on average across 18 like-for-like comparisons. The simple averages tell the same story: +8.8% and +8.0%.
The whole crop shifted upwards. Heads of 12 g or more rose from 16% of untreated plants to 29% with Overture® A and 26% with Overture® B, while light heads under 8 g fell from 26% to 14% with both products. Overture® A plants were heavier than untreated plants on every harvest day.
Both results came from a single application at sowing, with no other change to production. Whole-gutter weights from the machine-harvested gutters, a coarser measure with one weight per gutter, did not show a clear difference.
